My Face at 50

This painting/collage won honorable mention at the Daytona Art League, and I was thrilled because I love the piece.  It sold the first night of a show back in February 2011, but I borrowed it for this exhibit.  It's a piece dear to my heart because it's autobiographical in the sense that I was trying to capture not just my face but my life.  All the different parts and pieces of myself.
I've been working on portrait commissions lately, but about to start a series of painting on musicians or music related or inspired.  They are swimming around in my head.
Just have to begin... hopefully today.

Experimenting with Abstract

This was one of my first attempts at an abstract painting, and as you can see, it still leans towards realistic in the end.  I enjoyed the process very much.  Basically I had no idea what I was going to paint, initially.  I just began to play with paint and see what emerged.  The color of course was a water color and with my love of water, that just came.
